The market is flooded with numerous jewelers and shops claiming to sell the most authentic and beautiful diamond engagement rings on earth. To make the right choice from the plethora of designs and variety can indeed be a confusing task. I hope the tips below will help you choose the right diamond ring.

Determine about the 4Cs:

4Cs are the deciding factors for a diamond’s purity and value. They are -

Color - the purer and whiter the more valued

Clarity – the transparency of the stone and any inclusions (visible flaws)

Cut – how well cut the diamond is (not the shape)

Carat – how much the diamond weighs

Color:This king of gems comes in all colors. For sure, colorless is the absolutely perfect stone. The color is ranged from a scale of D-Z. D has the highest color grade of a colorless stone, while Z is the lowest, usually giving the diamond a yellow color.

Cut:Cut is another important factor. It points out the features like the brilliance and spark of the diamond. A badly cut diamond loses its brilliance and sparkling compared to a well cut diamond. It is the cut which determine the quantity of light that enters a diamond and passes out of it producing a prism-like sparkle. Although it is the hardest stone available, diamond can be cut in a variety of fancy shapes and sizes. You can choose a diamond between round, princess, cushion, emerald, marquise, pear shaped, heart, radiant, and much more.

Clarity:This characteristic helps you find out the amount of impurities or inclusions present inside a diamond. The diamond which has crystal like clarity is most popular and hence is the most expensive. Diamonds are rated on the basis of a clarity grading. The grade range is from Fl, IF, VS, SI, to I. Fl is considered flawless, which is rare and fetches for a heavy price, while I is the lowest grade.

Carat:Next one is carat weight. The weight of the diamond is measured in carats and increases exponentially. It does not mean the size of the stone. Basically, some stone contain higher carat weight for there deeper pavilion.
Knowledge about these 4Cs will help you choose the right diamond engagement ring for your mate.
